Program:  Peer Mentoring
Description:  Support for peer mentoring programs that offer critical life skills in the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse. 14 youth successfully completed the Peer Mentor program. 22 Life Skills workshops have been offred and presentations to schools reached 1284 students. Over 600 Francophone women were involved in peer mentoring program offered in conjunction with the Centre de Sante. 6,500 high risk clients were seen through the corner clinic and offered counseling and education regarding substnace misues through the peer mentoring program.

To reduce the proportion of adult women and men who consume alcohol at levels that places them at risk for AOD injuries, chronic disease, illness, or death.
To reduce the proportion of illicit drug use.
To reduce the proportion of licensed drivers that report driving after consuming at least 2 drinks in the previous hour.
To reduce the proportion of youth (12-19 year olds) who consume alcohol at least once a week.
To reduce the rate of alcohol-related injuries, chronic disease, illness, or death.
To support reduced consumption of alcohol and other drug abuse, and associated alcohol and drug use behaviour changes made by the intended audience(s).
